Founded in the year 2000, Turning Point serves as a Resource Centre dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of children facing unique challenges, encompassing both physical and cognitive aspects. This includes those who may learn at a different pace or encounter learning disabilities. Guided by a rich history spanning twenty seven years in the field of special education, the initiative was undertaken by Tania Hussain. Her motivation stems from a deep-rooted commitment to extending essential developmental and educational avenues to children often overlooked by conventional educational structures.
Turning Point offers a variety of programs to meet different needs, all aimed at creating a secure and nurturing environment for children to thrive both academically and personally. These programs are available during both morning and evening hours, ensuring flexibility to accommodate various schedules and requirements.
Evening Program
Our evening program specialises in comprehensive training designed to address learning and developmental gaps, enhance strengths, and promote appropriate social interaction. It serves as additional coaching for children who attend morning school but require extra support to reinforce their learning. Children take one-hour sessions in which they receive one-on-one attention based on an Individualised Education Plan (IEP) tailored specifically for them. Our program is specifically designed for children facing learning difficulties, including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Visual and Auditory deficits. We focus on developing essential skills such as phonological awareness, blending and segmentation, reading fluency, pre-writing skills, spelling, written composition, mathematical calculations, mathematical reasoning, behaviour management, social-emotional development, visual perceptual skills, visual memory, and auditory skills, providing a comprehensive platform for your child's growth and improvement. In addition to these services, we also offer emotional regulation and behaviour therapy to support your child's overall development.
